Two ways of being romantic
There are those who dream of a romantic weekend in a beautiful historic building - exposed stonework, open fireplace, formal French garden, breakfast served in a period drawing room. That is one way of being romantic, and it is a beautiful one.
And there are those who dream of something else - verticality, the illuminated city below your feet, the feeling of being suspended above the world together, in a space that exists nowhere else. That is another way of being romantic. Less well known. Often more memorable.
Love Horizons is the second.
What Love Horizons offers
A unique suite in the top floors of the Tour des Horizons - the tallest tower in Rennes city centre, which in the 1970s was one of the tallest residential towers in Europe. 90 metres above the city. Panoramic view over the Breton rooftops, the illuminated streets, the countryside in the distance.
Inside: burgundy velvet, Chesterfield, soft lighting, rose petals... Classic romance is there too - but perched in the sky, with a view that no countryside building can offer.
Which type of couple this is for
Love Horizons is particularly suited to couples who:
- have already done the châteaux and charming houses, and are looking for something new;
- love cities and feel more at home in an urban setting than in the countryside;
- want a truly unusual experience - something you talk about long afterwards;
- are looking for total privatisation - no hotel corridors, no other guests, just the two of them;
- want a genuinely private spa - jacuzzi and hammam available at any hour, theirs alone.
Height as a romantic experience
Height changes something in the way a couple experiences a moment together. Looking out over a city from 90 metres at night - the lights, the movement below, the feeling of being suspended above everything - it is an emotion that ground-level hotels simply cannot create.
From the jacuzzi, the bath facing the panoramic windows, the lights of Rennes stretch out to infinity. It is a setting that even the most beautiful châteaux near Paris do not have in their repertoire.
The city is worth the visit too
Rennes is not just a stopping point. The city has a remarkably well-preserved historic centre - half-timbered houses, cobbled alleyways, the Parliament of Brittany, the Lices market on Saturday mornings. A human-scale city, vibrant, pleasant to explore on foot.
And from Rennes, Brittany opens up before you: Saint-Malo 1h away, Dinan 1h, Mont Saint-Michel 1h15. The suite as a base, the day trips as a bonus.
How to get there from Paris
