What a love hotel offers - and what it cannot
A love hotel is a hotel designed for couples - carefully decorated, intimate atmosphere, wellness amenities. It is an evolution of the classic hotel concept, often pleasant, sometimes very well executed.
But a hotel remains a hotel. Other guests in the corridors. A spa with scheduled time slots. A check-in at the front desk. A room among many other rooms. Total privatisation does not exist in a hotel - by definition.
Love Horizons - not a hotel, a privatised suite
Love Horizons is not listed in hotel guides. It is not a room in a shared establishment. It is an entire suite, privatised exclusively for you, for the full duration of your stay. No other guests. No interruptions. No neighbours on the landing.
And it is set within an exceptional architectural landmark - the Tour des Horizons in Rennes, designed by architect Georges Maillols in the 1970s and inspired by the Marina City of Chicago. Its two white cylinders have dominated Rennes for over 50 years. For several years, it was among the tallest residential towers in Europe. The ARTE documentary "In Rennes, the vertical utopias" presents it as the last great manifesto of Breton modernism. Love Horizons occupies its top floors.
What Love Horizons offers that a love hotel cannot
- Total and absolute privatisation - the suite is not shared. No other guests, no host passing through for the entire duration of the stay;
- Private double jacuzzi facing the panoramic view - not in a shared spa with time slots. Your jacuzzi, at any hour, facing the whole of Rennes;
- Private hammam with chromotherapy - available at midnight if the mood strikes. No closing time at 10pm, no mandatory reservation;
- A unique altitude in Brittany - the only romantic suite in an urban tower at this height in the entire region;
- A personalised welcome - not an anonymous front desk, but direct contact with Frédéric and Nafi, the creators of the space.
Rennes - the finest Breton city for an urban romantic stay
Rennes is often underestimated as a romantic destination. People think of Saint-Malo, Dinard, the coastline. But Rennes has something coastal cities do not: a real city life, a preserved historic centre, the second largest market in France on Saturday mornings, and from Love Horizons, a view over all of it from 90 metres above.
And from Rennes, all of Brittany is within reach: Saint-Malo 1h by train, Dinan 1h, Mont Saint-Michel 1h15 by car, the forest of Brocéliande 45 min away.
Accessible from anywhere in France
Rennes station is 15-20 minutes on foot from Love Horizons, or a few minutes by taxi. From Paris Montparnasse: less than 2h by direct TGV. From Nantes: 1h15. From Lille: approximately 3h30 direct. No car, no GPS, no traffic jams.
